History: Andres Rosario officially founded Team BLUFOR in 2023, though its origins trace back to 2014. From 2014-2016 Andres, along with some great patriots and volunteers, led an organization that provided kayak fishing outings at no cost to Veterans and their families. During that time, over 600 Veterans were transformed by the healing power of the outdoors. The OPTEMPO of the US Army at that time caused a pause in the efforts, but the seed to help Veterans was planted, and the idea to return in some form was always there.
Upon his military retirement in 2022, Andres got involved in the local VA (Veterans Affairs) Adaptive Sports Program. In a matter of weeks, he was training weekly at a local fitness center were he met Cory, a disabled US Army Ranger, who sustained life changing injuries during his service in Afghanistan. Cory and Andres quickly became good friends and they trained for an upcoming Spartan Race in late 2022. This race, along with the training leading up to it, led Andres to revisit the vision that started in 2016. Seeing that there was a need to help Veterans like Cory through adaptive sports challenges, Team BLUFOR was founded.
The Logo: The sideway diamond pays homage to US Army Ranger SFC(R) Cory Remsburg. This diamond shape resembles the US Army Ranger patch used by Rangers during WWII. The six stars represent the six branches of US Armed Forces (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard).
