Andres stands as the Founder and President of Team BLUFOR, embodying leadership and commitment in his role. With a distinguished military career, he retired from the Army in 2022, after 27 years of dedicated service.


Beyond his military achievements, Andres is a passionate athlete and an avid runner. Not confined to the ground, he is also a powered paraglider pilot, showcasing his adventurous spirit and love for unique experiences.


What sets Andres apart is his profound dedication to serving disabled veterans. For over a decade, he has been actively involved in adaptive sports such as kayaking, hiking, running, and Spartan events. Recognizing a crucial need within the veteran community, Andres founded Team BLUFOR with a specific focus on supporting adaptive sports challenges.


His mission goes beyond the physical aspect of sports. Andres is driven by a vision to challenge veterans through various physical activities and events, providing a platform for healing both visible and invisible injuries. By encouraging veterans to engage in these challenges, he seeks to foster a sense of accomplishment and well-being.

Andres' commitment to the veteran community through Team BLUFOR reflects his passion for making a positive impact on the lives of those who have served, exemplifying true leadership and dedication to a cause greater than oneself.


Amy Van Riper

Vice President, Operations


Amy currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations for Team BLUFOR. Born into an Air Force family, she lived the life of an Air Force Brat before marrying into the Army. Her family's dedication to the armed forces is evident through her husband's 25+ years of active duty service and now, Amy has taken on the role of an Army Mom, with her son proudly serving in the Army.


Beyond her military connections, Amy is deeply involved in the local nonprofit community. Her focus primarily lies in serving pregnant women and families, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in her community.

Amy's passion extends to her desire to stay connected with the military community, where she actively engages in initiatives supporting veterans. Her unwavering commitment to both the military and local nonprofit causes reflects her compassionate and service-oriented nature, making her an invaluable asset to our organization.
